Damage Assessments
Finding the Hidden Damage
Before any restoration work can start, we need to know exactly what we are dealing with. Water and mould often hide far out of sight, behind walls and under floors.
Our damage assessments are designed to find the true extent of the problem so we can build the perfect plan to fix your home. Depending on your situation, we will carry out one of our two specialist assessments:
Water Damage Restoration Assessment
(For Escapes of Water)
If you have suffered an escape of water, our main priority is tracking exactly where the moisture has travelled and working out what is stopping your home from drying.
Visual & Lighting Checks: We start with a thorough visual assessment, using specialist high-intensity inspection lighting to trace the visible path of the water.
Tracing Hidden Water: We use thermal imaging cameras to spot hidden pockets of trapped water behind your walls. We then use advanced moisture meters to measure exactly how far the moisture has migrated.
Checking Building Materials: We assess your materials—like skirting boards, plasterboard, insulation, carpets, and tiles—to see what is trapping water and needs to be stripped out so the core structure can dry.
Salt Testing: If needed for an insurance claim, we test your plaster to scientifically prove the moisture is from your recent escape of water, rather than an old, historic issue.
Mould Remediation Assessment
(For Biological Hazards)
If you are dealing with a mould outbreak, we need to assess exactly how far it has spread and find the hidden water that is feeding it.
Mapping the Mould: We start by visually checking where the mould has spread. We then black out the room and use specialist UV diagnostic torches to clearly highlight hidden biological growth that standard lighting completely misses.
Finding the Source: Mould needs moisture to survive. We use our thermal imaging cameras and moisture meters to find the hidden pockets of water inside your walls or floors that are actively feeding the mould.
Material Assessment: We evaluate the affected materials to determine exactly what has been permanently ruined and needs to be safely stripped out, and what can be saved.
